Last Minute Stocking Stuffers! + Giveaway

There are five days until Christmas. And, if you are reading this post then you are either the type or person who has finished her Christmas shopping weeks ago, or, hey, you haven't really started yet. The good news is you have five days. The bad news is you have five days. So with that in mind, I am here today to suggest a few last minute stocking stuffer ideas. Keep reading for some easy to find suggestions. First let's lay out what makes for a good last minute stocking stuffer. First, it needs to be easy to get in store-- no leaving it up to the delivery services and no stressing over if it will arrive in time. These items must be easy enough to get in a store and not require a trek across town to a speciality shop. Second, it should be something the receiver would actually want. Third, if it can't be something they want, it should be something they could actually use. The Drugstore The drugstore is a treasure trove for last minute shoppers. From razors to toothbrushes

Lock In Your Love for Sick Kids | Vaughan Mills

Image
On Monday night I had the opportunity to attend the media launch of "Lock In Your Love for Sick Kids" at Vaughan Mills. Located in Vaughan, just north of Toronto, Vaughan Mills is a premium outlet mall with so many stores that I actually can't shop the whole mall in one sitting. Keep reading to hear a bit about my shopping experience, and to learn about their very worthy cause! When I arrived I was greeted by an array of yummy, family friendly snacks, a beautiful wall full of locks, and a whole bunch of other bloggers. I really enjoyed chatting with some of the other bloggers-- usually I attend events with basically the same circle of beauty bloggers. I actually didn't know anybody at this event, so I really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and getting to know some mommy bloggers and learning about their niche. After all, today I am a beauty blogger, but you never know where life could have me in five years! Always good to be prepared ;) Every lock tells a stor

DAVID'S TEA | Holiday 2016 Collection

Image
One of the things that that I love, but don't really talk about on my blog is tea. I actually really dislike the smell of coffee, so tea is how I get my warmed up caffeine in. I am pretty open minded when it comes to tea, though my favourite is a nice straight green tea. The other thing about tea that I am obsessed with is mugs! I love mugs. I use ~fancy~ tea mugs to hold my makeup brushes, and have such a huge stash in my kitchen its not even funny. One of my favourite places to get my tea is at David's Tea! Not only do they have more flavours than you can imagine, but their teawear is so so cute. Today I am sharing with you some pieces from their Holiday 2016 collection! Enjoy! (for my International readers-- David's Tea is currently just in Canada. If you ever get the chance to visit I highly recommend stopping by. You can usually find a David's in most trendy areas or even in the mall!) Ski Mouse Colour Changing Nordic Mug When you pour the hot water in the trees ch

MARC JACOBS New Nudes Sheer Gel Lipstick | Understudy & Eat Cake

Image
Marc Jacobs some how makes me lust over their purses, fragrances, and makeup! I am a long time fan of Marc Jacob Daisy perfume and recently have expanded my collection from the brand into makeup. I first got a Marc Jacobs lipstick in a Sephora birthday gift, and since then have fallen in love! I find that their lipsticks have a fantastic wear time, feel comfortable on the lips and somehow make my lips appear larger and more plump-- without any tingling! Today I am reviewing two lipsticks from their New Nudes collection. These lipstick come in a beige-tench coat coloured tube. With a magnetic closure and a weighted base, these lipsticks feel like luxury from the moment it is placed in your hand. I really appreciate the magnetic closure because when these are floating around in my purse they stay closed. Now, on to the swatches! While at first glance, Eat Cake and Understudy  appear basically the same, I find Eat Cake  to be more pigmented and glossier, while Understudy is a touch less g

CHARLOTTE TILBURY | The Queen, So Marilyn, Very Victoria

Image
This time last year I had never even heard of Charlotte Tilbury, and fast forward a year and I am just simply obsessed. Ob-sessed. I was first introduced to her products at a PR event last winter/spring ( you can read about it here ) and since then I have yet to try a product of hers that I have not loved. Some of my favourite products she makes are her lipsticks. Today I am here with some new-to-me Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks that have made their way into my collection. Keep reading for swatches and a review! Comparing with the other Charlotte Tilbury shades in my collection. The Queen Named after our beautiful, graceful and timeless Queen, this shade is the sort of pinkened-red that women of all ages can wear. I love this pop of colour on my lips! This lipstick has Charlotte's square bullet, which isn't my favourite (I find it harder to apply). And while described as a "Luminous Matte", this specific lipstick is not as matte as her other matte formulas (such as say,

TOO FACED | Christmas 2016 Stocking Stuffers

Image
Okay so if you read my blog or watch me on YouTube you will know that my love for Too Faced is real. And while their selection of holiday palettes always gets a healthy amount of attention, I also wanted to share with you some of their smaller goodies-- perfect for Secret Santas with friends, or to pop in somebody's stocking this Christmas! Keep reading for some mini reviews, and some photos that I am really proud of :) When I am looking for the perfect stocking stuffer, or small gift for a friend, I am looking for something that doesn't break the bank, but is still something full of joy to give and receive. By that I mean, pretty packaging, something perhaps a bit unique, something they maybe wouldn't buy for themselves, but at the same time is something they would actually possibly use. The right combination of useful and pretty, if you would. Christmas In New York Ornaments First off, you can hang these on your tree. Who wouldn't love a tree decked out in beauty mini

REVLON Kiss Balms | Fresh Strawberry, Berry Burst, Tropical Coconut

Image
Last month some time I had the opportunity to preview Revlon's Winter/Spring 2017 Collection. And while there are quite a number of things I am looking forward to sharing with you, I think I am actually the most excited about their new Kiss Balms. Today I am here with lip and arm swatches of three of their flavours. So let's start off with why I am so into these balms. I actually don't really reach for lip balms in general. However, my office is dry as a bone basically all year, and winter winds are on their way. When I first smelled "Tropical Coconut" I was immediately thinking of Pina Coladas and the Varadero beaches (23 more days but hey, whose counting?). But it gets better-- see these are actually perfect for my upcoming beachy vacay because they have SPF 20.  They smell yummy. They make my lips feel good. And sun protection? Yup I'm in. With just a hint of colour, these hydrating and sheer lip balms come in 6 flavours: Sweet Cherry, Fresh Strawberry, Jui
