Too Faced The Chocolate Shop | Holiday 2016

Image
A few days ago I went to my first Christmas Party of the season-- and I am so excited that we have a whole month before the big day to get together with friends, family, and loved ones. That also means a whole month of CHRISTMAS COVERAGE! Holiday sets, gift guides, stocking stuffers, you name it. Too Faced was kind enough to send me a whole bunch of their Christmas in New York collection to share with you. Now, I will be doing a big overview video over on my channel soon (complete with a giveaway, so go and subscribe now!), but I wanted to go into more detail on some of the palettes with swatches and all of that good stuff. Today I am here with the The Chocolate Shop.  This collection includes a palette with 21 eyeshadows, a blush, a bronzer and a highlighter. Additionally it includes a deluxe sized Shadow Insurance, Better Than Sex Mascara and Melted Chocolate lipstick in "Hot Chocolate". It comes all done up in the most beautiful packaging, complete with a Sephora shopping

Burt's Bees Lipstick | Tulip Tide, Iced Iris, Magenta Rush

Image
Yesterday I posted about the Burt's Bees Lip Crayons , and today I am here with a review on their lipsticks! Originally I was planning on doing them as one big review, but I figured it was better to split them up into two seperate posts so I could go into a bit more detail about the formulas. Keep reading for lip swatches and my thoughts on the formula! Again, the packaging features honeycomb details and a sturdy brown plastic tube. Retailing around that $10 drugstore price point, these offer a good quality product and decent pigmentation. I found this formula to be much more moisturizing than the lip crayons, though I also found that these had a shorter wear time. I find these so easy to reapply that that really does not bother me. I only have high wear time expectations from liquid matte lipsticks, and from really high end products. As the lipstick wears it fades nicely. Magenta Rush left a bit of a stain on me, and when the other two paler shades faded I didn't really notice

Burt's Bees Lip Crayons | Redwood Forest, Hawaiian Smoulder & Napa Vineyard

Recently I was sent some lip products from Burt's Bees. I love they offer affordable, drugstore products that are nourishing and pigmented. As I kid I knew them for their standard lip balms, but recently they have expanded their offerings to include an array of coloured lip products. Today I am here with some of their bolder lip crayons! Burt's Bees lip crayons retail for about $10 CAD and can be easily found on an end cap at your local drug store. Last year I actually purchased a set of these crayons for my mom for Christmas and she loved them! I really appreciate the honeycomb details on the caps, and how easy it is to tell which colour is which! While I wouldn't describe this formula as particularly hydrating, it sits nicely on the lips and is not drying in the slightest. These crayons are easy to work with, and twist up without a fuss. I also really appreciate that the caps on these stay put-- perfect for tossing in your purse when you are in a rush (aka me every mornin

BENEFIT | Dolly Darlings & Girl-A-Rama Review & Holiday 2016 Overview

Image
Benefit always has some fun goodies up their sleeve for Christmas, and this year is no exception! They have six beautiful holiday sets, and today I am here with two of them. Keep reading to find out what comes in these two boxes, and for some info about their other offerings this holiday season! Dolly Darlings  retails for $49 CAD and is availiable at Shoppers Drug Mart, the Benefit Uptown Boutique in Toronto, and Sephora.  It contains a full sized Hoola bronzer (retail: $36 CAD), a full sized Roller Lash mascara in black (retail: $31), a full sized POREfessional (retail: $39) and a mini Gimme Brow in shade #3. This set claims a value of $115, so with the full sized products coming in at $106, the other $11 would be the value they give the mini Gimme Brow.  Even if shade #3 isn'y your brow shade this set is an amazing value. My rational for purchasing this set is that I actually don't own Hoola and I have always wanted to, and Roller Lash is one of my favourite mascaras. I am a

MAC Strobe Cream | Silverlight

Image
About 10 years ago I was at a Me to We event and we left with a swag bag (probably the first big, fancy event swag bag I had ever received) containing a whole bunch of stuff, including a MAC strobe cream, a MAC eyeshadow duo and a MAC lipgloss in this really unflattering pale pink. I was so in love with everything, my first big MAC haul! When an email about the new MAC in the Spotlight collection landed in my inbox, I couldn't help but think back to that swag bag. Today I am here with a review of their new strobe cream in "Silverlight" Previously MAC's Strobe Cream only came in a soft pink (now called "Pinklight". However the cream you all know and love now comes in pale red, pale gold, pale peach and pale silver. No matter what your skin tone and undertones are, there is now a Strobe Cream for you! You can tap it on your cheeks as a soft highlighter, or mix it in with your foundation, primer, or moisturizer for a subtle all over glow. I love the soft almost

Introduction to Chorus Skin Care | Treat, Mask, Purify

Image
One of my favourite things about being a beauty blogger is getting the chance to tryout new products and brands. I always get so excited when I see a new brand has reached out to me offering a chance to try them out. This opportunity was all the more exciting because the brand-- Chorus Supernatural-- is Canadian! They are based in beautiful BC. So, let's get into the review! Today I am here with three products: Treat, Mask, and Purify. Treat and Mask are both face masks, while Purify is a cleansing milk. All of the products in this line can be categorized in the "natural/green" beauty category. Treat  is a face mask targeted towards those with oily skin, though normal skin can also enjoy it. This mask can be applied straight from the tube in an even layer over your skin. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse away with warm water and follow up with your moisturizer of choice. Normally I find clay based masks to be super drying. However, this one both managed to give

Bulgarian Rose Oil Products | Beauty Haven

Image
One of the coolest things about being a beauty blogger is the opportunity to try out new products and different brands. Recently I was approached by Beauty Haven to try out some of their new Bulgarian Rose products, and after using them for about a month I am here with my review! Beauty Haven is a Canadian online beauty store that carries beauty tools, skin care and makeup. all of that products that I am reviewing today are from the brand "Victoria Beauty", so those of you who follow me on Instagram may find that amusing :) The Natural Intimate Foam Wash  was an interesting product to be sent. And while you should keep those ~special~ areas clean, I don't necessarily think you need a specific wash to do it. That being said, it smells like roses, which is nice.   This product retails for $15.95 Rosewater with Bulgarian Rose Oil  is a lovely product, and one of my favourites that they sent me. I like to use it as a face cleanser in the morning to help remove my excess nigh

FALL FASHION | And an intro to Hillcrest Mall, Richmond Hill

Image
Late last month I had the opportunity to head up to Richmond Hill and check out the recently revamped Hillcrest Mall. Hillcrest sent a car to pick me up and even let me bring a friend along for the fun! Today I am going to share some of the neat blogger experiences I had while I was there, and of course what I ended up buying! On October 20th Hillcrest launched their new South Wing which includes Sporting Life, H&M, Aritzia, Pandora, and Sephora. Unlike some of the larger, more iconic malls in Toronto, this smaller mall has more than enough parking (trust me, I walked through the parking lot-- more on that later). It was a really positive shopping experience-- easy to get around, a good enough food court, and lots of benches to rest our tired feet on. I really appreciated that they had a good selection of my favourite stores, including higher end options. I've noticed that some of the more suburban GTA malls are really stepping up their game , and I think that is great for cust

Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick | BAWSE

I am a sucker for the perfect, matte red.   Always in search of it, I want something classic, bold, and comfortable on my lips.   Well, I think I found it. I can’t be the one who has noticed the sheer number of YouTuber collaborations hitting the shelves lately. Personally I don’t follow too many of the bigger channels—I love reading the blogs of fellow members of the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network, and supporting friends in ipsyOS by engaging with their content, but the huge channels? Other than RachhLoves and Madison Miller… not so much. With all of the recent collabs (Nikki Tutorials x Too Faced, Jaclyn Hill x Becca, Swamp Girl x Tarte…etc) it can be hard to keep track. When I evaluate a collaboration product I want to see that the product its self is high quality. I don’t care who is promoting it, I care about how it looks on me and how it wears on me. So with that being said… let’s get into the review! I will admit that I have never, until researching for this post, heard of Lil
