I Love Fall Tag!

Image
Unlike Daniell e (who tagged me in this!), I am not a huge fall person.  My favourite month is June: the sun is shining, its warm but not too too hot and it still feels like spring with flowers in bloom. The best thing about fall is that it ends and then its Christmas. I love Christmas and I live for finding the perfect gift, wrapping the perfect present and curating the perfect stocking. PS this pic is from Central Park in NYC from when I went there for Gen Beauty NYC! I love doing tags, and Danielle designed this one, so lets get started. First off, I should probably explain how I met her. So beauty blogging is a funny business, where on one hand you see the same faces at PR events and eventually you become friends, and on the other hand, you meet normal every day people at events at say Sephora.  So I met Danielle at Generation Beauty Toronto 2016 (read my posts here , here and here ) in one of the many lines.  She mentioned that she had a blog and was looking to get more into it.

KORRES | Wild Rose Skincare

Image
Skin care is such a personal thing, and if we are being honest, I really don't like switching up my routine.  However, when I was offered the chance to give these guys a try I couldn't say no... I mean, roses.  Come on. Today I am going to be sharing my experiences with these two products with you! My first experience with KORRES was when I was in high school and I bought one of their lip butters.  A few months later I got a huge pack with about 12 of they eyeliners in a gift set for Christmas because I really wanted the gold one. These two products are my first time trying out their skin care range. KORRES Wild Rose Brightening Oil ($75) This thin oil comes in a glass bottle and is easily distributed by the generous dropper. Dried rose line the bottom of the bottle. This oil has quite a dry feel to it, and is easy to apply on your face.  I like to apply this after removing my makeup at night before going to bed.  After using this product for two months, the bottle is half empt

Zoella Beauty Giveaway!

Image
Exciting news! Zoella's beauty line has recently launched in Canada. Today I am here with the details, and a pretty sweet giveaway! Zoella is such a high profile, professional YouTuber.  Seriously this girl's messy buns rock, and her millions of followers are impressive. Her core product collection is feminine, retro, whimsical, and oh so pink. I am lucky to be here with two of her new products. Her Wonder Handcream  retails for $9.99.  It has a soft, calming, powder scent and leaves my hands feeling hydrated and smooth. My office is pretty dry, so I love having a nice hand cream at my desk to keep my hands feeling nice. I also have her Favourite Things Beauty Bag.   This coral pink with white and glitter accents is a great size for travel.  The back lists some of my favourite things including hot chocolate, the beach, lipstick, Disney, Instagram and fairy lights.  I can't stress enough how handy the size of this bag is-- so perfect for weekend getaways! If I had a bathtub,

Estée Edit | A little bit of everything

Image
Do you ever see a brand that really doesn't interest you, and then you get to try a product from them and suddenly your wish list is a mile long? Yeah? Well that was my experience with the Estée Edit. The Estée Edit is Estée Lauder's latest launch which brings her high quality products to a younger audience. This line is innovative, fun, and very much on trend. The premise is that the brand will, at different times, have different guest editors who will contribute to the brand with ideas and direction, while helping bring it to new audiences. Today I am here with four of their products! The Estée Edit is a Sephora exclusive line that comes in silver, blue and white packaging. The Pore Vanishing Stick  is an unexpected favourite of mine.  While I (now) know that people use this different ways, I originally did not think this was for me as I have pretty good skin.  I've since discovered that this makes for an amazing targeted primer.  I love using this on my hair line, chin a

Give Me Some Lip | Sephora Favourites

Image
One of my favourite things to buy at Sephora is their Give Me Some Lip collections.  I purchased one earlier this year , and another one last year .  These sets always offer amazing value, and a great mix of full size and deluxe mini products.  Thankfully one of my wishes came true the other day when they launched their Give Me Some Bold Lip box (which I just ordered so stay tuned!).  Keep reading to see what came in this amazing little box. I always love the lip shaped box that these goodies come in-- and I always save them though I'm not sure what for... This box contained the following: Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment (Deluxe Mini) I always love these lip balms as we head into winter.  They are nourishing and comforting with just a hint of colour.  While I wish they would switch up the shade, I find this universally flattering.  I always have one on hand despite never having had purchased a full size one... :) Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in Lovecraft (Deluxe Mini) I'll

Earlier this summer I had the opportunity to attend Generation Beauty Toronto with two of my favourite ladies.  I was invited as a member of ipsyOS, and so we decided to make a girls weekend out of it.  Fast forward to two weeks ago, when ipsyOS invited me to attend Generation Beauty New York. I am going to organise my tips between those for everybody, and those for content creators more specifically. Bite Beauty The Multistick | Blondie, Cashew, Ceries, Cocoa, Gelato, Macaroon*

Image
Recently Bite Beauty sent me six of their new Multisticks to review for you guys. I decided to take a bit of a risk and review them on my brand new YouTube channel. (Shameless self promotion: subscribe because at 500 subs I am having my biggest giveaway yet-- and I am already most of the way there!).  I also have reviewed them for you here on my blog, so keep reading for my thoughts on Bite's first baby step into something not entirely for lips! The packaging looks exactly like Bite's Butter Cream lipsticks-- a flat topped lipstick bullet in a flat toped, well weighted tube.  This new product is thick and creamy with a semi-matte finish. While all colours stick in the neutral family, some make for better lip or cheek colours.  My opinions are totally based on what I thought was best on my pale, neutral under toned skin. Of course those with a different under tone, or darker skin, will have other favourites! My favourite for cheeks : Cashew! You know its good when I decided to w

My Demeter Custom Blending Trio*

Image
Recently I was sent a Custom Blending Trio from Demeter through the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network (I am a part of their network, they are such a generous, funny and engaging group to be a part of.  Go check them out, and join if you are a Canadian Beauty Blogger-- you won't regret it!). I have reviewed other blending sets and fragrances from them in the past, however this set was truly unique because I had the opportunity to select each fragrance included in my kit.  Keep reading to see what custom scent I blended! I was sent Salt Air, Sunshine, Clean Skin and an empty bottle.  While it is now Fall, when I selected these scents I was in a total beachy frame of mind, enjoying days by the pool and warm summer nights.  Now I curse every day that I think I can dare come home after 6 pm without a cardigan to keep me warm. While I could describe each scent on its own, the names really do say it all.  The smell you imagine? Yup.  That's it.  Sunshine is described as "Cotton

Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks | Naked & Tilt

Image
Recently Urban Decay revamped their lipstick collection by launching 100 shades of their new Vice Lipstick line. At $21 CAD these affordable lipsticks come in a variety of finishes ranging from matte to metallic, from satin to shimmer. Today I am here with Naked (cream) and Tilt (comfort matte). Naked  is a creamy nude-pink that is easy to apply and great for every day wear. Tilt  is a stunning orangey-red in their "Comfort Matte" formula. I've really enjoyed wearing this fun punch of colour going out and about on the weekend. Naked lasts four or so hours on me before I feel the need to reapply.  Tilt lasted about 6 hours before I ended up eating dinner. It held up pretty well through dinner but needed to be touched up.  With the pretty metallic packaging I don't mind carrying these around in my purse! I can't wait to redeem some Shoppers Optimum Points for more shades.  Currently I have my eye on "Unicorn", "Stark Naked" and "69". Wh

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipsticks & Event Recap

Image
Last month I was invited to attend MakeUp For Ever's (MUFE) Artist Rouge Lipstick launch party in downtown Toronto. I had so much fun, going with one of my best friends, and then also running into so many of my beautiful blogger friends. Keep reading for a quick event recap and then a review of their new lipsticks! At the event they had artwork, some incredible dance routines, and instillations of MUFE through the ages. MUFE has always been an artist focused brand. The best way I can describe their brand and their products is that they never try to be gimmicky. The focus on creating good quality products in shade rages from the every day (hello dusty rose lipsticks!) to bold blues and greens. With some brands they really rock their brow products, but perhaps their foundation isn't very good, or others make wonderful lipsticks... with MUFE they do everything well. One really special thing about the event for me was getting to see Trinidad again. I didn't know his name at Gen

#Goals (2016 Edition)

Image
Where did this year go? How is it already September? Is Christmas really so soon? Something about seeing summer come to an end and the calendar flip to September really motivated me to set out some goals for myself and for my blog for the remainder of the year.  I wanted to set goals that will motivate me to strive for more but that were also something that I can achieve if I put my mind to it-- meaning losing 50 lbs, gaining 1,000,000 YouTube subscribers and also making Chanel, Dior and Burberry's PR list in one go isn't exactly what I had in mind. If you want to see what I am actually working towards, keep reading! Blog #Goals By the end of 2016 I would like to have 15,000 friends on Instagram, 1000 friends on Twitter, and 1000 friends on YouTube.  Currently I am at 10,000 on Instagram, 800 on Twitter and 260 on YouTube. I would like to begin to work with two more of my favourite brands (such as Burberry, Chanel, Dior, Stila, Urban Decay, Benefit, Tarte, NARS, Becca, Nudestix

My Custom MAC Palette | July & August

Image
Hi friends! I am here today with my latest update in my "Custom MAC Palette" series with both my July and August shadows. Keep reading to find out why this post is a two in one! So... yeah. I have been pretty good about getting this series done every month.  July was a busy month between work, summer, vacation and my personal life. I only had one chance to go to MAC in July.  I went to a different location than I usually do, and wow was the lady working there unpleasant. I picked out a colour that I thought would be beautiful in my palette, but as it turns out it was not available for the Pro Palette. Rather than say that nicely she said it with so much attitude and then pivoted away to gossip with the other girl and honestly I just felt judged and unwelcome. In August I went to a MAC in a mall location and the lady was so sweet and helpful. I mentioned what happened the month before, and she asked which location.  I told her which one and she said that she had heard many sim
